Eudigo API and MCP server

Eudigo’s index of the EU Digital Identity Wallet as a free, read-only API and as an MCP server for AI assistants. Same data as on this website, with sources and dates, under CC BY 4.0.

Beta  No API key · about 2 requests per second · MCP server · OpenAPI

Quick start

Base URL https://api.eudigo.eu. All endpoints are GET, return JSON and allow cross-origin requests.

curl https://api.eudigo.eu/v1/countries/DE

curl "https://api.eudigo.eu/v1/countries?status=live"

curl "https://api.eudigo.eu/v1/glossary?q=access%20certificate"

Every response has the same shape: meta with licence, source page and date of the data, and data with the content. Texts are bilingual as {"de": …, "en": …}; field names are English.

Full schema: OpenAPI 3.1 – import it into Postman, Insomnia or a code generator. Errors come as JSON with an HTTP status: 404 (unknown country, standard or term), 422 (invalid parameter), 429 (rate limit), 503 (data temporarily unavailable, e.g. register statistics before the first run).

Where the data comes from

  • Wallet index: maintained by Eudigo from official sources and checked against our classification rules. verified: false means only secondary sources so far. Every status change is kept in history.
  • Registers: our collector queries the public register APIs of all member states daily (from 24 December 2026, Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/848). The API publishes availability and aggregates only, never individual entries.
  • Standards and spec tracker: checked daily at IETF, OpenID Foundation, ETSI, ISO, W3C and GitHub; see the spec tracker.
  • Updates: with every site build and at least daily. Responses may be cached for 15 minutes.

MCP server for AI assistants

The same data as a Model Context Protocol server, so assistants like Claude can answer questions such as “Which EU countries already have a wallet?” or “From when do banks have to accept the EUDI Wallet?” with Eudigo as the cited source. Read-only, no login.

Terms of use

  • Licence: data under CC BY 4.0. Please credit “Eudigo (eudigo.eu)” with a link where possible.
  • Fair use: about 2 requests per second per IP address with short bursts; beyond that HTTP 429. Cache responses on your side. For higher volumes or alerts, contact us.
  • Beta: fields may still be added. We will avoid breaking changes to /v1/; if they become necessary, we announce them on this page in advance.
  • No warranty, no legal advice: we check sources carefully, but the official texts are authoritative. Eudigo is an independent service and not affiliated with the European Commission or any government.
  • Privacy: the API stores no personal data; server logs keep shortened IP addresses for 14 days (see privacy policy).
